Kenneth N. Shirk, EA

Founder & Vice President
As founder and President of Sonrise TagsAndTax LLC, Ken is the driving force behind the growth and success of the firm.  A graduate of Millersville University, he is listed in several Who’s Who publications for his expertise in clergy tax matters.  Ken is an Enrolled Agent licensed by the Treasury Department to represent clients before the IRS.  Churches frequently use Ken as a consultant in matters related to taxes, and compliance with regulations. Ken can be found preparing taxes at our Myerstown tax location.
Active in the community and his church, Ken is a member of Gideons International and a former school director. He and his wife Susie have been married since 1970 and have four married sons. In his spare time, Ken enjoys flying kites, reading, and working with Susie on home decorating and home improvement projects. After tax season is over, they look forward to riding their tandem recumbent bicycle on roads and trails all over the northeastern USA. Contact Ken if you want to discuss biking!

Aaron Shirk, EA

President
Aaron is both an expert tax professional and an extremely knowledgeable Notary Public.  He started working in the family business as a pre-teen and progressed to tax preparation before graduating from high school. Now, Aaron can be found at the Lebanon tax office during the busy season. Few have amassed Aaron’s experience and knowledge in taxes and licensing at such an early age. Attending tax and notary seminars and workshops throughout each year keeps his skills sharpened. Aaron and his wife Heidi are active in their church and community and have three young daughters.

Susan E. Shirk

Operations Administrator
Susie’s been around the business since day one. However, a few years ago she gave up her career as a Sonographer to devote her full time to Sonrise.  Her most important function is coordinating the activities between offices. A trained tax preparer and Notary, her biggest asset to the business is being the “glue that holds everything together” as April 15th approaches each Spring.  She generally works out of the Myerstown office and has a wealth of knowledge regarding all aspects of the Sonrise operation.  She loves to spend time with her grandchildren and enjoys traveling and being the “stoker” on the tandem bike.
